Dear Target you are a part of the problem with society. TARGETING the children. Making 10-year-olds dress like young adults with hemlines far shorter than a 5-12-year-old should wear. Hemlines and necklines that teens and 20 something’s are wearing to go out. Styles are far too identical to the “juniors” section, once again, targeting teens and young adults. So now the style from 5-20 something’s are the same? I was almost struggling to differentiate little girls from the lady’s section. There are dress styles you would find women wearing while walking the Vegas strip. What is the thought process here?
Elementary-aged girls shouldn’t be worried about or concerned with looking like young adults in a 90s movie or even the modern high schooler, as that seems to be the trend again. 5-12-year-olds don’t need to grow up any faster than they are and the styles you show them they need, are certainly perpetuating the problem.
Some may disagree with me in all regards but I just had to get this out. It is not okay. Kids are only innocent for so long and I don’t see the need to speed up the process by dressing elementary-aged children in cropped tops, tube tops, pencil skirts, bustier tops, pencil dresses, or booty shorts. They are CHILDREN for goodness sake. Let them be CHILDREN.
To Target's little girl's clothing designers, shame on you for numerous options you've created.
